Huntsville Federal Building
Created for the Huntsville U.S. Courthouse through the federal Art in Architecture program, these murals depict life in northern Alabama. The paintings bring figures and regional settings into the courtrooms, giving the building a visual connection to the communities it serves.
The compositions combine the scale of architectural painting with the close observation of people and landscape. Light provides depth and directs attention through each scene. Together, the murals make representational painting part of the daily experience of a civic building, offering a human and regional context within its formal setting.
